Frances Doherty divides her time between bustling Brighton and the Normandy countryside, which is where she creates and fires her beautifully detailed ceramic sculptures. Frances originally owned a restaurant in Brighton but sold it when she became hooked on ceramics at an evening class. She continued her studies, graduating with a BA in 3D Design from Brighton University in 2001. Since then she has successfully exhibited her work at galleries and art fairs throughout the British Isles.
Frances is inspired by the natural world around her and is particularly drawn to the secret world that exists within flowers, in the patterns and textures hidden away that give a continuing sense of promise and renewal. Find out more about Frances’ work at http://theceramicgardener.com
